The 1959 Dutch built 2,180 grt antarctic supply ship ' Antarctic Dream ' which had been built with a very strong ice stengthened hull as a supply ship for the Chilian Navy, and was withdrawn from service about 1997, has in recent years been operating cruises to the Antarctic from South American ports after several refits.

She has also cruised to the Arctic from Norwgian ports and carries about 70 passengers, in two berth cabins, after having had several refits.

During 2015 a safety type inspection, while at Ushuaia, revealed 35 faults and there was a delay in her being allowed to sail on an antarctic cruise .

Last week she turned up in the Gulf of Oman and appears to be conducting engine trials, according the the AIS positions of the ship, which may mean she has visited a local shipyard.

A restricted trade information website now shows her as being registered in MONGOLIA, having previously been registered in Chile, but with no known owner !

There is no news on her future use !
