Halifax on your own

This time last year my wife and I visited Halifax, Nova Scotia while on board Queen Mary 2.

This was our second visit to the famous port that is also home to Cunard's founder, Sir Samuel Cunard...



His statue features just outside the cruise terminal which is conveniently situated at one end of Halifax's Harbour walk area...



There is plenty of maritime history and heritage to be found along the walk...







Away from the Harbour Walk there are a number of visitor attractions including the Citadel...



...which dominates the City.

On a rather morbid note halifax is also home to the cemetery that has the largest number of graves of the victims of the Titanic sinking...
