Earthquakes

They apparently just had the second set of earthquakes in Italy. With Concordia balanced on a couple of broken rocks its worrying

Mrs L .... No problem glad to have found it posted by someone elsewhere, eventually as a full programme it should make interesting watching.

Another webcam has popped up of Concordia, its alot closer to the ship than the previous ones and gives a great view of the ship and will eventually be an excellent way to see her being recovered too...

Seems that they have a lot yet to further investigate.
Made me look up yaw radius. Found it on wiki.

One thing that stands out is the course the ship had planned to take! not the one claimed by the Media but the same one almost that the ship had taken on a previous saillby. The one which Costa officials were very quick to claim they did not authorise! there will be a few Costa managers heads that will roll when the courts make their decision.

Concordia was half a mile off that route and placed her closer to Giglio.

One thing that is now for certain is, Schettino was not a hero who managed to turn the ship to shore in order to save thusands of lives, as was stated by his lawyer and a former master and head of a Captain's Association who repeatedly claimed Schettino did an heroic act! of course managers in the ofice knew damn well aboout the flybys and certainly will emphatically deny this. From Insiders information I know (and receive continually written information) that more and more italian Managers and department heads in the office are being replaced by Europeans of Nordic countries. Latest change made. On 18.June Soren Krogsgaard will join as VP Technical Operations. he was last in charge for AIDAS Newbuild program and before that in same capacity over at Carnival. He replaces an italian at that position. Same changes took place at the Hotel Operations and at CEO level when Michael Thamm will replace Pier Luigi Foschi on July 1st.
Remains to be seen what judgement the courts will pass on.

It seems that the Judge has released Captain Schettino from house arrest this week, he has been told he must not leave the town where he lives.

Details of the black box should be releasedin the next week or two but at least one American based news media is already claiming that there is no data recorded due to a defect!
