Below is a link to a YouTube film about the Chinese shipyard which has carried out conversion work on the 1972 built RCL cruise ship ' Sun Viking '.

Commentary is mainly in Chinese !

In recent years Sun Viking , which had been named ' Long Ji ' , had operated gambling type cruises around the Singapore and Malaysian waters .

Recently she was sold to new Chinese owners who have named her ' Oriental Dragon ' and after refitting the ship are now operating her on cruises in the Far East..

Of the three original RCL sister ships . the others being Song of Norway and Nordic Prince, Sun Viking was the only one that was not lengthened by about 90 feet and still retained the ' Crown Lounge ' around her funnel when sold.

Chinese owners have also recently bought the laid up ex Spanish Happy Cruises chartered cruise ship ' Ocean Pearl ' which was built in 1970 as the ' Song of Norway ' .

She is now at what is thought to be the same Chinese shipyard, at Guangzhou, for conversion work before entering service about December 2012 as ' Formosa Queen '.
