Think twice before you book a cruise on one of the mega size cruise ships !

The NCL 145,655 grt 4,000 passenger 1,640 crew ' Norwegian Gateway ' arrived off the port of Rostock / Warmonde this morning about 04.30 hrs, from Copenhagen, but due to the reported windy conditions did not get clearence to enter the port and was still cruising around in circles at 7.5 knots off the port this evening at 18.30 hrs !

Her next port of call is listed as Tallin.

A smaller German operated cruise ship entered the port about Noon and berthed with no problems when the deluxe 66,000grt cruise ship ' Marina ', which carries just 1,252 passengers with a crew of 780, had sailed !

To book a cruise and then not visit the planned ports is not what you expect on a cruise but the weather can sometimes be inclement !

It is often more likely that the smaller cruise ship will still be able to enter the planned port of call so always consider these cruise type of cruise ships when booking your holiday where you may also find that the service could be far superior as there is less people to look after !
