Original built in 1961, in Scotland by John Brown ship yard for Union Castle Line as RMS Transvaal Castle, on the Southampton to South Africa run.

The RMS prefix was also carried by Titanic, meant that the ship was authorised to carry post from Royal mail (British Post Office). Currently only two ships have this prefix QM2 and St.Helena a passenger / cargo ship that does a regulart run from UK to Ascensin Island, St. Helena and Cape Town.


Wish we had more ships with that kind of look. I managed to see the FESTIVALE several times, never got to sail on her :( :bawling:
