Having survived a collision with a bigger Italian liner which sunk the 1948 built ex ' Stockholm ' continues in service.

She was stripped to a bare hull at an Italian shipyard in the 1990's and having been rebuilt with new engines and superstructure has since had several owners.

She is now owned by Portuscale Cruises of Portugal and operated under charter by the UK based cruising company CMV Voyages as the ' Astoria '.

After a nearly three week visit to the shipyard in Lisbon since early March 2017 she has been operating a short series of 8 UK cruises and then moves under a sub charter from CMV Voyages to the french market in May 2017 before returning to the UK market for another series of cruises in March 2018.

This classic cruise ship which has an ice stregthened hull is now the oldest cruise ship in regular service at 69 years old !

She is 16, 144grt and carries just 550 adult only passengers.

Pictures show the snow reflecting off her hull earlier this year while on a visit to the North Cape port of Honningsvag in early March and also the owner's suite on board which can be booked for a cruise. 08.04.2017 astoria NC 2.jpg 27.03.2017 owners suite astoria.jpg
