How do you like our new forum layout?

I wasn't aware of that....I remember when (IIRC Jeff, the owner of Krooozcams at the time) closed the forum, but continued the krooozcams site. Didn't know the forum was picked up by someone else, or is it still Jeff?

How do you like our new forum layout?

Hi..... I recently started receiving emails inviting me to come to this forum.....I was surprised to see that I was already a member since 2005.....and when I looked at my early posts, I find some from 2005. I vaguely recall those, but I thought that they were from the old Krooozcams...

Original 1972 built ' Pacific Princess ' to scrape yard

Wow! I had forgotten about that pilot movie for the t-v show....you're right, good catch! That film was based on the best-selling novel "The Love Boats", by Jeraldine Saunders, who based it upon her experiences as the first female cruise director. Here is a link to the IMDB on the film...

Original 1972 built ' Pacific Princess ' to scrape yard

I am very sad to read of this....the 'Love Boat' show sparked my initial interest in cruising, and the Pacific Princess was my very first cruise ship, back in July of 1991 from Whittier to Vancouver, after a fully escorted Princess Tour of Alaska. Still ranks as the best or one of my favorite...

    MSC Opera review

pobore1, you have my sympathy, but that is simply supply and demand market pricing, same as any other commodity. Cruiselines have to make their profit when they can. There are plenty of opportunities to get real bargains off-peak.

Jackie, that's it! I rode up top where the photographers are when I tendered from the Radiance into Astoria, Oregon last may. Superb visibility for taking photos of your ship or the port. I recall there being seating for about 25 passengers up there, and about 100 below.

    Long Beach Hotels

I stayed on the Queen Mary back when it first became a hotel and I vaguely remember a choice between the beautiful original first class cabins with their wood panels, portholes, and all; or modern larger interior rooms that were made after gutting out the original ships cabins. I hope you enjoy...

Great job! I can't tell from the photo if that's the same kind that I rode from the Radiance. The upper deck was open on that one.

Okay, I'll check them out Monday. I liked the ones on the Radiance, with their upper, open-air deck.:)

Jeff, I'm curious about the different tenders used on various ships. Do you happen to know the names of the builders? I haven't had any luck when trying to do a web search.

Bob Brown sails Monday on Constellation

Good capture, Liz! Yes, the sun came out over Queens, also. Finally!:) The paint design on the hull looks pretty sporty for what is reputed to be a conservative cruise line. What do you think?

    Jackie sails Monday on Galaxy

Bon Voyage, Jackie! I had forgotten about that hour. I'll need it to recover from my cruise before returning to work on 31 Oct. Or at least that hour to adjust all my clocks and watches to standard time.:)
