What is the first thing you do when boarding your cruise?

I am usually one of the first on board. I like to get to port early. :) I try to drop carry on luggage in the cabin if possible. Most times it is, even with closed doors. I know, I'm a baaad girl. LOL Then we explore the ship and take photos before the crowds appear. After that, it's off...

    Costa Concordia aground!

Very sad news, but seems inevitable at this point, those still missing would have checked in by now. :(

Before you book the cheapest room...

I always do some research before picking a cabin. Look at deck plans above and below the room, not matter the category or cost. Google or otherwise research the cabin number too. Many reviews include them. I make sure there are no clubs, pools, theater or casino above or below us. And if...

    Muster drill......when was your's....?

It's always been before leaving port for us. I think that is mandatory in the US. I did sail out of Southampton once, but don't remember the drill. It was a 2 day cruise to nowhere.

Have your views of cruising changed........?

I'm leaving in a few days, so yes, I will still cruise. I will however, be more aware of my routes to Muster and I think I'll keep a "go bag" in my cabin at night with essentials and meds at the ready. Also will keep a small purse with me at all times. I tend to walk around the ship without...

    Passport question

Passport photos are easy to get! You can go to any Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc and they will do them for you in the proper size. You need to submit 2 copies. After you mail in your application with photos and birth certificates, assuming there are no problems with documents, you should have...

    The Bon Voyage list

Nice being at the top! :biggrinbounce2: And Adding another before we embark as I don't want a terrible case of PCD (post cruise depression) when I get home from Voyager. :dancing_banana: Mary (alphakitty) & Ken - Voyager o/t Seas - 21 January 2012 Rita (Rita) & hubby - Carnival Destiny 28...

Ally, no, we have not been to New Orleans before. I'm really looking forward to it and we are staying 2 days before the cruise. We took NCL Spirit out of Boston to Bermuda...I did love that little ship. Sorry to hear you were sick for the holiday, though I know it is quiet for you...

    The CruisingTalk Coffeeshop

Hi Ally! :) Yes, that is the one. It was a tough decision to change from Allure to Voyager, but for the $$, Voyager was a better value and a longer cruise. The main reason we switched though, was that a group of friends booked Voyager and we wanted to go with our friends. Cruising alone...

What type of camera do you prefer to use on a cruise & why?

I recently purchased a digital, waterproof camera. It is digital, takes SD cards and it works great. I love it for both regular and underwater photos. I enjoy snorkeling on our cruises, so it was fun to get photos of the fishes and coral and the like.
