Discovery World Cruises is marketing 26 vacations throughout Europe for summer 2008. Itineraries range from 10 to 42 nights with destinations as diverse as Longyearbyen and Alexandria.

One highlight is a 16-night adventure that includes a total solar eclipse as the 650-passenger Discovery sails in Arctic waters. Overnight calls are scheduled in cities such as St. Petersburg, Nice, Venice, Istanbul and Alexandria, and maiden visits are planned in Scotland’s Leith and Invergordon and in Italy’s Santa Margherita.

A two-night hotel stay in London is included prior to many of the summer and fall voyages.

Rates start at $1,695 per person, double occupancy, for a 10-night Norwegian Fjords program.

Customers who book early can save up to 50% on select sailings, and extra savings are available on ‘Grand Voyages’ (combined itineraries). In addition, the line is offering free economy class air to Europe from certain East Coast gateways. Travelers from other parts of the U.S. may take advantage of discounted air add-ons of $99 from the Midwest and $199 from West Coast gateways.
