Smile Press Release : Discovery Cruise Line Announces New Cruising Categories

New structure permits passengers to choose whether they want meals included

MIAMI, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Discovery Cruise Line, which carries nearly 200,000 passengers annually between Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Bahama Island, has announced new cruising categories.

According to Hanns J. Hahn, General Manager of Discovery, "a new 'Coach' category is being introduced effective September 29, 2006, which will provide passengers with transportation and cruise amenities in the price of the ticket, without meals. Historically, the cruise has been all-inclusive of three lavish buffet meals. However the new category now allows passengers to choose whether or not to have the three meals included in the price of the cruise. Of course, buffet meals can also be purchased onboard and other food and beverages are available at various locations onboard should passengers desire refreshments or food."

Mr. Hahn said that "the 'Standard' category includes the usual three lavish all you can eat buffet meals on the roundtrip cruise. And, the 'Plus' category for Cruise 'N Stay Getaways includes priority check-in and debarkation, two lavish buffet meals on the way to Grand Bahama, seven-course dining on the return cruise, transfers to and from hotels on island (Cruise 'N Stay Getaway Vacations only), and the use of a private lounge on board, The Florida Room. These two categories existed previously but now have new labels."

The new Coach rate for Grand Bahama Party Day Cruises is $39.99, the Standard rate is $49.99, and the cost of Plus is $59.99 (same as Standard but including the seven-course gourmet dinner). All rates are per person, each way, based on a roundtrip cruise.

Cruise 'N Stay Getaway Vacations can be categorized with 2 day, 1 night Coach packages priced from only $119.99 per person, double occupancy. The roundtrip cruise on Discovery includes games, entertainment, a swimming pool, spacious sun decks, lounges and a Las Vegas-style casino with slots, blackjack, roulette, Caribbean Stud Poker, and much more.

Discovery sails daily from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island, departing at 7:45 am and returning at 10 pm. Discovery offers same day roundtrip Bahamas Party Cruises as well as cruise and stay getaway packages at most of the island's hotels. The convenience of daily non-stop service makes it easy and convenient to travel to Grand Bahama, no matter where you fly or drive from.
