Mum and I are going on this charter instead. It looks awesome. Circumnavigates the islands, is very much a wildlife cruise. Russian icebreaker, lots of zodiac trips, walruses, polar bears, and only 50 or so people. The people at the Travelling Naturalist are also spectacularly delightful on the phone, so I'm really, really looking forward to it.

Here are the details: Birdwatching and Whale-watching cruise to see the total eclipse of the sun in Spitsbergen with The Travelling Naturalist

Would love to see all the animals but my husband really not good in the cold. See you might get a total eclipse included too.
