OK...VoD really are going to rub people up the wrong way now.

The July 25th cruise went to Bergen, Tromso, Honningsvag and Alta only. US Passengers on that cruise are stating they received $400 per head compensation.

This is double what was originally given on earlier cruises. And even then some British guests received nothing at all.

The ship is still running on 3 engines and the word has still not been sent through to TA's that there is a problem with the ship.

This is disgraceful on VoD's part. They have got to be held accountable for this surely.

Thinking out loud here...

VoD are charging the highest surcharge per capita in the industry. They are also slashing the price of their cruises...the current one was £599 including flight back to the UK for 8 days on the ship.

In respect to the surcharge. Could the price be reflecting the extra fuel needed to get the ship to speed on 3 engines rather than the expense of the fuel used if she was on four?

Logic tells me that 3 engines would be more thirsty than 4 if the 3 were having to take the load of the 4th....so more fuel would equal bigger fuel bill...yay or nay?

Then it is advertised as follows -

Bergen - 10th August 08.00 hrs until 13.00 hrs

Oslo - 11th August 15.00 hrs until 19.00 hrs

Korsor, Denmark ( Odense ) - 13th August 07.00 hrs until 18.00 hrs

Copenhagen - 4th August 08.00 hrs until Midnight

( some passengers leave here and other join ) With their oars !

Stockholm - 16th August 08.00 hrs until 16.00 hrs

Helsinki - 10.00 hrs until 17.00 hrs

St Petersburg - Arrive 08.30 hrs 18th August sail 18.00 hrs 19th August

Tallin - 20th August 08.00 hrs until 18.00 hrs

Warnemunde, Germany - 22nd August 08.00 hrs until 21.30 Hrs

Kiel Canal - 23rd August - Morning transit

Harwich - August 24th - Arrive 08.30 hrs and cast off the tug ' Ocean Cock ' in the photo below )
