Well looking at the webcam for Tromso, Discovery has finally arrived there (she wasn't in port this morning when I looked and only found Arcadia)

mv Discovery

Many thanks for the update. It looks as if the new rubber bands must be working !  I have freinds on Arcadia so if they get talking to any of the Discovery passengers I might get some more news when they return to Southampton on the 3rd August as they are aware of the problems. Neil |

I wonder how Discovery's cruise is going so far...if there have been any further problems
 Hopefully your friends will be able to find out today in Tromso...should be some very interesting conversations going on

PORTS OF CALL mv ' DISCOVERY '
Hi
This photo is interesting as the flyer which was issued with a revised itinerary for the mv Discovery lists her as at Hammerfest from 07.00 hrs until noon today and then at Honningsvag from 17.00 hrs until 23.00 hrs today. It looks like there might have been another change to her itinerary ! I wonder if it is to give her engines a chance to cool down ! Neil |

Looking at the Hammerfest video (on Norway Cams thread here) it seems that they have very low cloud there, and seeing as Alesund & Molde, amongst other areas, has very thick fog this morning, it could have been the weather that changed the plans....but then again..

....maybe the foghorn doesn't work properly, so they avoided Hammerfest for that reason

I wonder if they stowed a full set of oars whilst she was in Harwich for a fortnight. She is still on 3 engines, so I can't see what could have been done in the fortnight that she was idle.
