Lightbulb Maritime Memories Grand Voyage from the Black Sea

Quote:
Specialist UK-based cruise tour operator Maritime Memories is organising its ninth voyage aboard the 710 passenger capacity Discovery in April 2009. The 29 day Grand Voyage from the Black Sea starts with a flight from the UK to Istanbul, from where Discovery sails to Harwich in the UK, calling at Sochi, Yalta, Sevastopol, Nesebur, Canakkale, Kusadasi, Heraklion, Santorini, Mykonos, Piraeus, Valetta, Messina, Sorrento, Civitavecchia, Ajaccio, Almeria, Gibraltar, Cadiz and Lisbon.

Passengers can have a longer cruise if they wish, 43 days, by flying to the Egyptian port of Safaga and joining Discovery and then calling at ports in Egypt, the Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. Alternatively, those wishing a shorter cruise, of 15 days, can fly to Athens to join the ship in Piraeus on her way to the UK.

Maritime Memories cruises celebrate the golden days of shipping and the shipping companies of yesteryear and feature lectures by a number of guest speakers. On selected days the ship is dressed with old company flags and memorabilia, including ships models and paintings. In the evening, there are special menus that have been taken from the great ships of the past.
