Voyages of Discovery adds fuel surcharge

Voyages of Discovery implemented a fuel surcharge for all bookings on the Discovery from Feb. 1 to April 26.

The charge is $10 per person, per cruise night, and the equivalent amount applies in the local currencies where VoD operates.

The company said the surcharge covers less than half the increased costs for fuel, with the affected departures among the highest in fuel operating costs.

No decision has been reached on summer 2008 itineraries.

The charge of $7 per person, per cruise night (or the equivalent in other local currencies) will apply to all bookings on the Discovery with embarkation dates from May 10 to Nov. 4.

Voyages of Discovery had initially levied the surcharge on winter cruises only.
