Transocean Tours retains Marco Polo gsa in Australia
Peter Marshall of Cruise Abroad will continue as the gsa in Australia for Marco Polo when the 826-passenger ship makes her final voyage for Orient Lines on March 2 from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon.
Marshall has been the gsa for Orient Lines in Australia since 1995 when it was owned by Gerry Herrod.
He continued in this role when NCL Corporation operated Marco Polo on charter from its parent company, Star Cruises.
He has been retained by its new operator, German cruise specialist Transocean Tours, which has released Marco Polo’s European summer 2008 sailings from Tilbury.
Speaking to media today, Marshall said the 22,080gt ship, which entered service in 1965 as Alexandr Pushkin, will cater for English-speaking passengers and is being marketed in England, South Africa and Australia.
He has produced full-colour flyers in Australian dollars for each itinerary -- Baltic Cities & St Petersburg; British Isles; Iceland & Northern Isles; Norwegian Fjords; North Cape, Fjords & The Land of the Midnight Sun and The West Indies.
