Summit - genset installation completed along with interior/exterior refurbishment
Quote:
Celebrity Summit completed a 17-day drydock at Blohm+Voss in Hamburg where it was equipped with a new 11,000-kilowatt diesel genset.
The ship is the latest gas turbine vessel in the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. fleet to gain an auxiliary diesel electric system to power the hotel plant in port, reducing fuel consumption.
Other work carried out during the docking included replacing 2,707 square feet of tile, 9,843 square feet of carpeting and 2,500 yards of fabric.
Among the projects were the installation of a new dance floor in the Rendezvous Lounge, a full renovation of the boutique area and freshly varnished wood railings and newly polished surfaces throughout.
Celebrity Summit resumes its European season on Tuesday.
