Star Flyer Tahiti bookings on a roll
With Star Flyer’s Tahiti program booked at 89% occupancy for the first quarter of 2008, Star Clippers is ‘quite happy’ about the response to the new deployment, said Anjie McFarlane, svp worldwide sales and marketing.
The U.S. remains the biggest source market (57% of bookings), with Europeans, Asians and Australians comprising the balance. In spite of Tahiti’s distance from the top source markets, ‘interest is very strong’ in all sectors, including charters, McFarlane told Seatrade Insider.
The ship will provide Tahitian entertainment and a daily local menu specialty.
Star Flyer will start its seven-day cruises from Papeete in late December.
