Malaysia’s Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) and Star Cruises are working toward special cruise packages for Visit Malaysia Year 2007. The country received about 17.3m tourists in 2006, and for Visit Malaysia Year 2007 tourist arrivals are expected to hit an all time high of 20.1m.

The programme, is intended to showcase a modern Malaysia to the world. Speaking at a media briefing during the ASEAN Tourism Forum, Datuk Dr Victor Wee, secretary general of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, said Malaysia is targeting 24.6m arrivals in 2010.
