Lightbulb Star Clippers’ long-term commitment to Far East

Quote:
Creative Cruising, the Australian gsa for Star Clippers Monaco, has released an early bird discount for bookings on ‘the great annual westbound Indian Ocean crossing’ that Star Clipper will make from Phuket to Athens on March 21 next year.

Fares for the 37-night repositioning voyage by the 170-passenger replica clipper ship that operates under sail and power are from A $7,109 (US$6,784) per person, with a 15% discount for bookings made by January 31.

Star Clippers Monaco’s Star Flyer, now based in Papeete under charter to the French Polynesian government, began operating Phuket/Singapore itineraries in 1996.

Its 2,298gt sister ship, Star Clipper, will sail from Athens for Phuket on October 16 this year to operate the company’s annual Far East programme of seven-night Saturday/Saturday itineraries. They include ports around Thailand, as well as Malaysia and Singapore and run until the March 21, 2009 repositioning voyage to Athens via the Suez Canal.

Star Clipper is scheduled to depart Athens again on October 15 next year for another Far East programme that runs until March 2010.
