Lightbulb Travel Dynamics International launches classic golf cruises

Travel Dynamics International, a small-ship cruise company specializing in cultural voyages, has announced the launch of a Classic Golf Cruises. The wholly-owned subsidiary will create and operate golf voyages to the world's leading courses, for golfers and other discerning travelers seeking the intimacy of private-style cruising in a small group.

Building on Travel Dynamic International's four decades of designing and executing unique itineraries aboard small cruise ships, Classic Golf Cruises will similarly reach premier destinations - now with an eye toward offering privileged entrée into premier courses - and travel in more comfort and style than the larger ships can offer.
In the Travel Dynamics International tradition of providing the guidance of experts, a PGA professional or other expert will host each Classic Golf Cruises voyage and instruct golfers on their game, both onboard and on the course.

"With Classic Golf Cruises, we are able to serve the growing demand of seasoned golfers who seek a truly distinctive experience," said Vasos Papagapitos, co-president of TDI.
"Increasingly, first class courses are being built where art and archaeology were historically the principal attractions, and we look forward to calling at remarkable places around the globe where the age-old Scottish game has taken root," he added.

"The combination of high-end golf, compelling world destinations and cruising aboard yacht-like ships is ideal, both for the players and for their non-golfer companions alike," said TDI co-president George Papagapitos.

In 2008 Classic Golf Cruises will offer three voyages: Golf Cruise to the Greek Islands & Turkey (August 27-September 6 and September 5-15), and Golf Cruise to Southern Spain & Morocco (December 8-17), both operating aboard the 34-guest Callisto, an elegant yacht known for its fine accommodations, superb cuisine, impeccable service and exclusive ambiance akin to a country club.

Classic Golf Cruises will call at remarkable ports, from Malaga and Gibraltar to Rhodes and Marrakech. Golfers will have the opportunity to play such challenging courses as Costa del Sol's Valderrama, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 1997, and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, a Trent Jones, Sr. masterpiece; the Crete Golf Club, considered the finest in Greece; National Golf Club and Cornelia Golf Resort in Antalya, Turkey; and in Morocco, the El Jadida Royal Golf Course, set between the sea and the Atlas Mountains.

Rates for Golf Cruise to the Greek Islands & Turkey start at $5,995; and for Golf Cruise to Southern Spain & Morocco, at $4,995. Prices include all green fees and other costs associated with golf; and for non-golfers, excursions to major cultural attractions.
