Pullmantur's vp and director general sales & marketing, Bernardo Echevarria, confirms that Sky Wonder will resume its previously scheduled series of seven-night Aegean cruises with an April 6 departure from Istanbul.

The vessel has been programmed for alternating departures from Piraeus and Istanbul and, as reported earlier, ran aground on the sandy bottom in the port of Kusadasi on March 25. Winds of 45 knots and power failure on the stronger of two port tugs pushed Sky Wonder aground without causing structural damage, and at no point were passengers and crew in danger, according to Echevarria.

A 14 person unit from Pullmantur's Madrid head office flew to the scene and arranged swift repatriation of the 1,058 passengers to Madrid and Barcelona, using one of Pullmantur's Boeing 747s and two additional chartered aircraft. Prior to leaving the vessel, all passengers were given full refunds as well as a 50% credit for a future Pullmantur cruise.
