Smile 2008 World Cruise revealed aboard Silver Shadow

At a luncheon in a posh Manhattan restaurant, Silversea Cruises today unveiled its 2008 world voyage, a 110-day day journey roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. The circumnavigation will visit more than 50 ports in 25-plus countries.

Silver Shadow will sail through the Panama Canal and along the Mexican Riviera, crossing to Hawaii, followed by inaugural calls in destinations like Majuro in the Marshall Islands, Pohnpei in Micronesia, Guam’s Apra Harbor and historic Iwo Jima.

The voyage continues to the Far East and Egypt then into the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Highlights will include overnight calls in Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, Mumbai and Barcelona.

At the itinerary’s unveiling in Le Bernardin, the famous French seafood restaurant on New York’s West Side, Silversea ceo Albert Peter and North American sales executives David Morris and Marilyn Conroy hosted top travel partners including American Express, Virtuoso and Signature Travel. Peter thanked the guests for helping achieve occupancy of close to 100% for all segments of Silversea’s 2007 world cruise, which sails next month.

‘A Silversea world cruise is a complete lifestyle experience,’ said Morris, evp sales and marketing for North America, who promised an expanded program of shipboard and land-based enrichment activities for the 2008 circumnavigation.

The voyage opens for reservations on Jan. 2, when pricing and the full itinerary will be available at Silversea Cruises.
