Lightbulb SeaDream honoured in Berlitz book

Top Scores Once Again for SeaDream I and II

Author Rates SeaDream Twins Above Luxury in Special Category Called “Exclusive”

SeaDream Yacht Club has done it again. Its elegant twin yachts SeaDream I and II have achieved top scores once again in the authoritative Berlitz Complete Guide to Ocean Cruising and Cruise Ships. The 2008 edition of this highly-regarded, independent cruise industry bible has just been released.

SeaDream I and II topped the new Berlitz guidebook’s Five-Star Club winning out over a field of 13 contenders. Also, the SeaDream twins, which have received this honor each year since SeaDream Yacht Club started in the fall of 2001, were deemed by author Douglas Ward to once again be in an “Exclusive” category Ward has deemed to be above luxury.

There are only three vessels in the “Exclusive” category---the SeaDream twins and Europa, a cruise ship, operated primarily for the German market.

Commenting on the feat, Larry Pimentel, SeaDream’s President & CEO, said “This is a truly amazing honor for us. We are delighted that we have rated so spectacularly in Doug Ward’s great book. We thank him and his publishers but we also want to point out that this honor is due to a team effort. Not only, are our shipboard officers and staff responsible for this, but also our SeaDream colleagues in all of our offices ashore.”

“We have an incredible band of colleagues and I want to personally salute them,” Pimentel added.

Ward’s objective evaluations of cruise ships come from predetermined criteria that include scores for the quality of the ship, its accommodations, cuisine, service, entertainment and overall cruise experience. Called the world’s top authority on cruising and cruise ships, Ward provides in-depth reviews of 280 vessels which he ranks as Exclusive, Luxury, Premium and Standard.

In his review of SeaDream I and II he makes these comments:

Overview---“The two SeaDream ships really are the ultimate boutique vessels, like having your own private yacht in which hospitality and anticipation are art forms practiced to a high level.”

Suitable for---“…best suited to sophisticated, independent and well-traveled couples…who seek a small ship setting…”

Cuisine/Dining---“The SeaDream Yacht Club experience is really all about dining… (It) will not disappoint, and culinary excellence prevails.”

Service---“The staff is delightful and accommodating (‘no’ is not in their vocabulary)”

Spa/Fitness---“The holistic approach to well-being plays a big part (on SeaDream yachts) in relaxation and body pampering…”

Other recent honors and accolades garnered by SeaDream Yacht Club are:
