Lightbulb Sea Princess - rescues immigrants on boat in distress in the Mediterranean last week

Quote:
British passenger boat rescues 8 Algerian illegal migrants transporting them to Southampton port

A British passenger boat sailing at the Mediterranean Sea, has rescued on Thursday, 8 Algerian illegal migrants heading to Spanish southern coasts.

A statement released by Ocean Cruises, a company managing cruises across seas and oceans, said one of its boats named Sea Princess, has rescued 8 illegal migrants were on board of a trawler during a cruise between Ajaccio, Corsica, and Gibraltar.

The spokesman of Sea Princess boat, transporting 1950 tourists, said the saved Algerian illegal migrants are in good health conditions after receiving the emergency treatment at the boat medical centre. Sea Princess is expected to reach Southampton port southern England, today, where the illegal migrants will be handed over to the migration services, they will be considered as asylum seekers.

In this regard, the international marine law obliges the shipping and passenger boats to save the people in danger and evacuating them to a safe place.
In its turn, another passenger boat named Oceana has saved 7 illegal migrants after their trawler has sunken, and transported them to Southampton port; one of them has met his fate at Gibraltar hospital.
