Lightbulb Premier Political Pundits Highlight PBS Personalities During Regent Seven Seas Cruise

FORT LAUDERDALE, Jan 17 – Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) is inviting guests to join celebrated stars of television’s Public Broadcasting System (PBS) aboard two 2008 cruises featuring insightful discussion of the 2008 presidential election, world affairs, and the creative realms of film, performance and art. Regent’s Public Television at Sea ("PTV at Sea") cruises, part of its Spotlight Series enrichment program, depart April 7 aboard the 490-guest, all-suite Seven Seas Navigator®, and November 15 aboard 700-guest, all-suite, all-balcony ship Seven Seas Voyager®.

In April, as the nation anticipates a pivotal electoral decision, Regent’s PTV at Sea cruise will focus on an exclusive post-primary political discussion of the highest caliber. Gwen Ifill, host of Washington Week, PBS’ acclaimed political program, will lead a panel of respected journalists in a careful examination of the 2008 presidential campaign during a journey departing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale to Bermuda and the Bahamas aboard Seven Seas Navigator. Ifill will discuss strategies and issues that will directly impact the presidential race with a panel of distinguished journalists including:

* Dan Balz, National Political Correspondent, The Washington Post
*

Martha Raddatz, Chief White House Correspondent, ABC News

In addition, leading political analyst Charlie Cook of The Cook Political Report will provide front-line insight and information on the 2008 primaries, the campaign frontrunners and the possible outcome of the nation’s November decision.

In November, award-winning historian Ric Burns will discuss his films, including the critically acclaimed documentary The History of New York, and distinguished producer Jac Venza will discuss the history of one of PBS’s longest running shows, Great Performances, during a fall Mediterranean cruise aboard Seven Seas Voyager.

PTV at Sea itineraries are as follows:

* April 7-18, 2008, Seven Seas Navigator - Washington Week highlights the 11-night voyage departing from Fort Lauderdale that will visit Port Canaveral, FL; Savannah, GA; Charleston, S.C.; Hamilton and St. George’s, Bermuda and Nassau, Bahamas.
* November 15-23, 2008, Seven Seas Voyager - Arts and culture are celebrated as the Seven Seas Voyager departs from Civitavecchia, Italy (the port for Rome) on a 16-night voyage calling at Palermo, Sicily; Tunis, Tunisia; Cartagena and Malaga, Spain; Casablanca, Morocco and Funchal, Madeira before crossing the Atlantic to disembark in Fort Lauderdale.

Regent’s PTV at Sea cruises are offered in partnership with locally based PBS stations nationwide and Artful Travelers, which pairs the best of art, culture, entertainment and travel to create extraordinary experiences. PTV at Sea guests will enjoy rare opportunities to meet and mingle with their favorite public broadcasting personalities at dinners, cocktail parties, shore excursions and other organized events during both voyages. Each cruise will be highlighted by incisive, interactive panel discussions.

Visit PTV at Sea for more information and updates as additional lecturers are confirmed. Reservations can be made by calling Artful Travelers at 800-645-8566. While certain activities and events during these cruises are only available to guests purchasing their cruise through Artful Travelers, some events will be open to all guests as part of Regent Seven Seas’ Spotlight Series, featured on Regent’s website Luxury Cruise Lines: Luxury Cruise Vacations from Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
