Cunard's Queen Mary 2 on Friday made its first transit of the Suez Canal from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, becoming the largest passenger ship to pass through the world-famous canal.

On the last segment of its maiden 80-day World Cruise, the liner was calling on Alexandria, Egypt; Athens; Rome; and Le Havre, France, before heading to its homeport of Southampton, England.
