What would you want to see aboard the new Queen Elizabeth?
Hi, I am a new member here on this messageboard. My name is Jerry and I live in New Jersey,USA.What I would like to ask other members of this messageboard is what would you like to see aboard the new Cunarder Queen Elizabeth entering service in 2010? Regards,Jerry
I personally would like her to have been smaller than she will be, to start with. But as to her style and so forth...well I would love to see some curves, not the containership like shape of the new Vista class ships that are being churned out. She should have character, individuality, sophistication and class (by class, I mean the ambience that QE2 has always had about her). She should have real wood, not formica veneers, Wilton/Axminster carpeting, British made ceramics...bathrooms and crockery alike...basically a purely British feel about her and certainly not a floating Vegas with gawdy colours and lighting.
Make her look like an ocean liner, both inside and out, and not just another floating block of flats

I agree with you.Cunard/Carnival Corporation should have built the Queen Victoria and the soon to be in service in 2 years time new Queen Elizabeth as Panamax versions of the QM2 and not use the Vista Class Cruise Ship design which is really a Holland-America design or really a Holland-America Ship painted in Cunard colors with a Cunard style funnel. This is not to say the Vista Class Cruise Ships are ugly ships. On the contrary they are nice looking cruise ships. But it is really an Holland-America Ship design.Cunard should be allowed to have its own identity.I guess I should look at the bright side of this topic. It is better then Cunard not getting any new ships at all and the Queen Victoria and new Queen Elizabeth since they are built to be stronger than the other cruise ships will still be able to do the occasional Southampton to New York transatlantic crossing though it will be a 7 night crossing than the 6 night crossing the QM2 and QE2 are able to do because the QV and the new QE are slower ships than the QM2 and QE2.I know that the QM2 and QE2 are true Transatlantic Liners. Ally I agree with you.Cunard/Carnival Corporation should have built the Queen Victoria and the new Queen Elizabeth of 2010 to be Panamax versions of the QM2 and not use the Vista Class Cruise Ship design which is really a Holland-America design. In my humble opinion the Vista Class Cruise Ships are really nice looking cruise ships. But as I have said earlier the Vista Class Cruise Ship design is really a Holland-America design not a Cunard design.Cunard should be allowed to have its own identity.Oh well I might as well look at the bright side and think well at least it is better than Cunard not getting any new ships at all.And the Queen Victoria and the new Queen Elizabeth are cruise ships that are built to be stronger than the other cruise ships so that the Queen Victoria and the new Queen Elizabeth can do the occasional Southampton to New York transatlantic crossing though at slower speeds than the QM2 and QE2 can do.I know that the QM2 and QE2 are true Transatlantic Liners. I actually don't like QM2, I used to live across from the entrance to Southampton Water and on choppy days she didn't half lean and looked very top heavy. Not been on her as she is too big for my liking...not to mention too expensive for a single cruiser
Victoria is awful, she doesn't look Cunardish at all...don't like her, but then I am not overly keen on the Vista class anyway

Ally, I am sorry for posting the same message twice.I have heard that the new Queen Elizabeth will look exactly like the Queen Victoria and not exactly like the Eurodam.Well at least thank god they built the QM2.The QM2 a true Transatlantic Liner even at almost 5 years of age can still be considered to be a new ship.
