Lets hope the weather in Southampton is nice for all the farewell celebrations for the QE 2.
It was a pity that the ship could not have been made into a maritime museum and hotel and stayed in the UK. We can only wait and see if all the stories that have appeared about her funnel being removed and other changes being made, when the ship arrives in Dubai, prove to be correct. At least the outside of the original RMS Queen Mary is pretty well intact in Los Angeles. A lot of her interior layout and fittings are original and she is open as a hotel besides being a maritime museum. Next year it will be 75 years since the RMS Queen Mary was launched !
