Princess Daphne - Weekend retro cruise to celebrate cruising as it used to be
Quote:
Three night weekend at sea from just $645
Cruise lovers longing for a return to traditional cruising on a genuine and intimate ocean liner that doesn’t require a GPS system to get around can join a special weekend cruise next summer aboard Princess Daphne during her maiden season in Australia.
The latest liner to call Australia home, the stylish 550-passenger Princess Daphne won’t be the biggest, newest and most distraction-filled ship ever to sail Down Under. In fact, she prides herself on offering the opposite.
The 16,000-ton ship heralds a return to the grace and charm of traditional cruising, with traditional portholes, attentive, old-fashioned service, fine dining, cabaret shows and a friendly and intimate atmosphere. And with just seven decks and no apartment block-like rows of balcony cabins, Princess Daphne is easy to get around unlike the latest megaliners ten times her size.
Australian cruise agency, Cruise Express, has exclusive use of Princess Daphne for a three-night weekend getaway next January.
The ‘Summer Smiles’ ocean cruise aboard the Classic International Cruises liner sails after work from Sydney on Friday, January 9, 2009 and returns to the harbour before work on Monday January 12, providing a chance to relax at sea and have fun with friends and family after the hectic Christmas/New Year rush.
Originally built as a transatlantic liner and fresh from a US$15 million refurbishment in April 2008, Princess Daphne offers 238 comfortable and spacious cabins and all offer private bathrooms – most with a bathtub – a luxury usually only found in expensive suites on the latest liners. And a high 90 per cent of cabins boast ocean views.
Purpose-built for ocean cruising, with a deep draught, Princess Daphne also offers four lounges and bars, a pool, spacious open decks, outdoor buffet, nightclub, cabaret-style entertainment, restaurant and spa sanctuary with indoor jacuzzis and a gym.
All-inclusive fares start at $645 per person, twin-share for an inside cabin.*
