Lightbulb 'Fly Free' to Athens, sail back onboard Princess Daphne's maiden Voyage to Australia

Quote:
Classic International Cruises is offering a free flight and two free nights to Athens this November for Australians who would like to sail the inaugural journey back to Australia onboard Princess Daphne.

Passengers will be flown free from Australia to Athens where they will board Princess Daphne for a complimentary two-night stay in the ancient city before their 35-night voyage to Sydney departs Athens on November 14, 2008.

Fares, including all onboard meals, air and port taxes and gratuities, start at just A$5250 per person, twin-share, for an inside cabin – or only $142 a day, all-inclusive.

Passengers who have previously sailed on fleet-mate, Funchal, from Perth, will receive an additional $250 discount per person.

The ‘Fly Free’ offer is available from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, with passengers in other centres able to join the complimentary overseas flights in these capitals.

Passengers are free to spend the two pre-cruise days exploring Athens from their floating hotel, Princess Daphne – with all onboard meals included, before sailing to Sydney via the Suez Canal.

The epic 35-night cruise will visit the Greek island of Heraklion, Port Said and Safaga in Egypt, here passengers can see the pyramids, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Phuket in Thailand, Singapore and also Cairns and Brisbane, before arriving in Sydney on December 19 when Princess Daphne will begin her maiden season of cruises from Australia.

Australia’s latest liner, the 550-passenger Princess Daphne promises to rekindle traditional cruising with attentive, old-fashioned service, an intimate and relaxed atmosphere and warm camaraderie amongst passengers.

The 16,000-ton Princess Daphne will differ from other cruise ships in Australia by offering passengers a traditional liner experience along with ocean views from a high 86 per cent of cabins and also bath tubs in 92 per cent of cabins – an amenity only found in suites on the latest cruise ships.

Princess Daphne has 238 cabins and offers five lounges and bars, restaurants, casino, disco, pool, hair salon and a wellness centre with sauna, spa and gym. The currency onboard is Australian dollars.

Classic International Cruises began sailing in Australia in 2004 with cruises from Fremantle aboard Funchal. The line’s record-sized 2008/09 season will see both Princess Daphne and Funchal offer 23 cruises to and from Australia.
