only done a 10 nights. there were 2 formal nights when lots of folks dressed up ( DH wore his kilt! ) Apart from the first night which was casual the rest were smart casual or tropical attire/smart casual on island night. Hope this helps.

We have cruised Princess a few times, there is normally a couple of formal nights on a 1 week cruise.

Formal doesn't necessarily mean a dinner suit for the men.... many wear a lounge suit and a few wear sports jackets.

The rest of the time it's casual.... a smart shirt is fine.... no need for a tie.

Usually the formal nights are on sea days... thye first one will coincide with the Captain's cocktail party, the second one with the midnight champagne waterfall.

Princess is one of the few lines where passengers are a bit more dressy by choice. On a seven day cruise you will encounter two formal nights. Princess has done away with the semi-formal nights, so all other nights are "Resort Casual". Our recent Sea Princess cruise of 14 nights had only three formal nights and a majority of the people did dress up.
