Pride of America - snapped bow ropes
Pride of America broke her bow ropes and partially dragged the passenger gangway into the sea. There were no injuries and the ship's bow thrusters and tugs managed to return the ship to the quayside safely.

Something like this happened on the Elation last year, injured 4 people. Thankful no one was hurt on this one.

Nothing worse than having your ship go walkies without permission.....but they were lucky that on this occasion no-one was hurt and no damage done.

This happened once while I was on a local ferry. We pulled away from the dock before someone had taken off the line. It was not rope however, but a metal line. It's a good thing no one was in the path when that thing snapped, I've no doubt it would have cut a man in half!
