Anchor ports at this time of the year can be a bit dodgy for opertaing a tender service.
 Lets hope if it operates they get everybody back on board OK.  |

Ships handle winds better at anchor than pierside, assuming the anchor holds, of course. People on the other hand...tender rides in high winds are unamusing, at best, and dangerous, at worst.

When I was working on the P & O cruise ship ss Oriana we had to leave about 500 passengers ashore for the night at Dubrovnik !
We had been at anchor all day and the winds came up about 4.00 pm making it unsafe to continue to operate our launch service. We spent the night cruising off of Dubrovnic and went back to the anchorage the next morning to pick up our passengers who had been accommodated on a ferry which was in port overnight.  We also had to leave five of our launches / lifeboats in the harbour overnight.  |
