Question What is Arcadia Like

Has anyone cruised on Arcadia? If so can you please let me know what to expect when I cruise on her in October? Any information concerning Arcadia would be appreciated.

Default Not my favourite ship

http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberre...?EntryID=15645

This is my review following our Caribbean cruise in January. You will notice that there are quite a few things I did not like about Arcadia, but the cabins are excellent, except for the bedside lights.
I notice there are 3 Oct cruises, Canaries, Iberia and a cruise to the carib., so not sure which you'll be on, but if you have good sunbathing weather then I suggest you head aft to the Aquarius pool area or the sun deck just above it.
Food was excellent, but I do prefer Princesses anytime dining rather than being tied to one specific time, of course you can use the buffet but it's not the same as waiter service in the d/room.
We thought that the pub. got crowded and smoky, so only used it for watching live football.
The shows were good and generally there was enough room for everyone that wanted to be there.
And even though it's not my favourite I would join you in a flash if I had the readies.
John.

John

Thanks for your reply. My cruise is from Southampton to Barbados. I note to head for the Aquarius pool or the Sun deck above. Must get that tan.

I have read your report on the link you gave it was very good. It certainly builds up the excitement. I have heard so many things about Arcadia so it is good to hear about it from someone who has cruised before. Thanks for sharing that with me. It has been a great help.

Our main complaint of Arcadia, during our Baltic Cruise twelve months ago were people comparing it with other P&O ship, this is better on Aurora, I prefer this on Oriana etc. Instead of treating the ship as a wonderful place of pleasure and different to other ships of the line.

We do not cruise to criticise ships, or compare one with another, I agree the area around Aquarius pool was absolutely brilliant; mainly you could walk into the self-service restaurant, and bring food to your sun bathing area.

If I had a complaint, apart from high prices of P&O cruises we found that a majority of activities on board, whether a talk, computer lectures all had a fixed charge of 5GBP.

We cruised on the vessels twelfth cruise; it was fairly stable, creaked more than any other vessel we had travelled on, and a freak wave on the North Sea apparently caused some cabins to have flooding problems when pipes came out of their connections.

To criticise a ship, one has to think of people that cannot afford the wonderful pleasure of cruising, we have been on ships where noise were no problem finding, and others noisy activities were hard to find. Whatever is going on board, there are always quiet areas you can find. We probably all have our favourite ships, but no way would I criticize a ship, unless it was absolutely awful. Cruising is a pleasurable holiday/vacation, just enjoy it. As with life, what one person enjoys, another may not.
