My TA sent me that horrible letter today. You know the one asking for the balance to be paid.

The good news is that the cruise is vast approaching

John

Flying from Barbados, should ensure your flying in a Boeing 767. They are the better of Thomson planes, as we went to Egypt on a 757 and the legroom was atrocious. Thomson it seems only have Boeing aircraft.

Britannia used to be first class, all planes having reasonable legroom, but since the Germans have taken them over and renaming the airside of the industry Thomsonfly, legroom has become less comfortable. We are using the company for our flight to Italy at the end of October. We normally fly direct to Genoa with Ryonair from Stansted, with a four hour coach ride from home, this time we are going from Coventry to Pisa, with a two hour train ride the other end. We are also spending the night in Italy. Coming home from the states, Virgin has offered us the best deal, exceptionally cheap. We are independent travellers.

Last year we cruised the Baltic on Arcadia, and we booked excursions for St Petersburg on the web through their site.. Caribbean destinations, we have found taxis provide a more cheaper and interesting form of travel than the cruise excursions.

Sailing from Southampton we had the same times as yourself, we arrived at midday at the Mayflower Building (Pier 106) and we had a very swift signing in at one of the many P&O desks in the building, after a short wait in the departure lounge we embarked at 2:00 pm.

Norman

thanks for sharing that information with me. I do appreciate it.

I received a brochure today regarding excursions. I have booked two through P&O but will do my own thing with the rest of the stops.

As regards Thomsonfly I am told that they are first class but how that relates in real terms I will have to wait and find out.

I got a letter from P&O today offering me free coach transfer from Birmingham Airport to Southampton. The courtesy bus leaves Birmingham at 9.30am. The offer is made as I sail out of Southampton and fly back into Birmingham.

I am declining the offer as I have a hire car and hotel booked the night before in Southampton. So I will start the holiday a day early. also I have family in Southampton so will be meeting up with them.

Nonetheless a good offer.
