I have just come off the last cruise ... the so called 'nightmare' cruise ... and would like to say that the Captain was brilliant. There was nothing he could have done to minimise it. The freak incident happened without warning to everyone. The entire crew were amazing and sprung into action immediately. It was scary, but I have no complaints about what happened. It was just one of those things.
I don't know the name of the replacement Captain, but I do know the one we had ... although can't remember it right now! And my bag was unfortunately left at the port (my fault!) and is being couriered to me, and any documentation that would jog my memory is in that bag!
May I ask why you want to know? I am wary of any negative criticism towards him, as he does not deserve any.
I am curios to see if I know him as I worked at sea with P & O for over 30 years and was on the ss Oriana all the time she was based in Sydney and cruising to the Pacific islands and the Far East.
