No worries Mark

The pre-reg is usually mandatory, most lines say to have it filled in by 14 days prior to sailing date. You will need to have your booking number to get onto the system, then you can type in your insurance policy details, passport number(s), emergency contact details etc. It will show you your confirmed cabin, your meal requests (size of table, sitting time etc), your full itinerary and any other info that you might need.

Saves alot of fuss when embarking as once filled in, that's is it til you board

Thanks again Ally, i have tried to activate my personaliser on P&O's web site, but but as it says i cannot pre-book any shore excersions untill 12 weeks before my cruise, i could not proceed any further so i will try again around 12 weeks beforehand.

Hi Mark
Did you manage to have a look through what's on offer with the excurisons. I'm going on Artemis in November and have seen a few that I fancy although I can't book as yet.

Hello Middy
Yes i would like ultimatley to do as many as i can. I was surprised that there were quite a few for each & every port of call. I think i would prefer the full day excersions on offer, rather than the half-day tours.

In August 2005 we cruised the Baltic on P&O Arcadia. Below are our activities in the various ports.

Oslo – Ship docks within walking distance of the city, apart from tours from the ship, open top bus tours were available next to the ship. If possible be on deck for the few hours of approaching or departing, as the cruise through Oslo Fiord is tremendous.

Copenhagen – Walk a few hundred yards to the little Mermaid, catch a barge, and tour the canals, with a hop on/hop off ticket, very reasonable, and it takes you into the city centre.

Stockholm – we berthed at Nynäshamn where a tender service was operated. A very expensive P&O bus trip was the means of getting to Stockholm. We then walked around the old town, then caught a boat that visited all the islands that constitutes Stockholm.

Helsinki – we contacted the Helsinki Tourist Office, they told us where the ship was being berthed, and told us to walk out of the docks, and catch a public transport bus, and pay €6 (it was cheaper when we were there) A bus was waiting, we paid for our ticket, travelled to the harbour, took a boat trip, returned to the ship for lunch, returned to city in afternoon, took the 3T circular tram, where again you can hop on/hop/off. One of the cheapest days out we have had. If following my advice, get bus times that return to the ship.

St Petersburg – Due to the size of the port, and the distance out of the port, and also visa restrictions, ship excursions are a must. A temporary visa is issued at immigration, a card you must return when you return through immigration.

Tallin – wonderful, to experience this lovely jewel, walk.

Rostock – we were the last cruise ship in Travemunde, and we had a splendid send off. Many people take the excursions from Rostock.

Zeebrugge – Many take the ship excursion the Bruge, others take the shuttle to Blankenberg and take the train, which is a fraction of the price of ship excursion to Bruge. Blankenberg is a charming Belgium seaside town, and we enjoyed spending time there. The shuttle arrives and departs from the train station.

Hopefully this is of assistant and will discus aspects of our cruise if required.

Norman
