Default P&O adds new Tahiti sailings

Overwhelming demand for P&O Cruises Australia’s four-week ‘Pearls of Tahiti’ cruise in 2008 has seen the cruise line add a new 28-night Tahitian voyage to its latest program.

Pacific Dawn will now sail a second Tahitian Treasures cruise, departing Sydney on 4 June 2009, as part of the cruise group’s new 2008-09 brochure.

The brochure also includes a collection of extended voyages, including the longest round-trip cruise ever from Brisbane – an 18-night ‘Samoan Secrets’ escape, departing 9 May 2009 on Pacific Sun.

Carnival Australia’s chief executive officer, Ann Sherry, said the arrival of superliner, Pacific Dawn into Sydney, and Pacific Sun’s move to Brisbane in November, marked the start of a new era in cruising for Australia.

“Our latest brochure features more than 120 holidays, including 23 new cruises on offer between January and June 2009, with new itineraries and destinations available to holidaymakers who want to sail away for their next break.

Sherry said the new itineraries would appeal to holidaymakers looking to explore exciting destinations, while retaining the convenience of sailing from Sydney or Brisbane.

The 2050-passenger superliner, Pacific Dawn, will offer 52 cruises between November 2007 and June 2009, including the ‘Tahitian Treasures’ voyage, with quad-share fares starting from $3834 per person for an inside cabin.

The 17-night ‘Samoan Surprise’ voyage on 20 March 2009 offers fares from $2318 per person.

Shorter holidays are also available with seven-night cruises from Brisbane on Pacific Sun to the South Pacific, or tropical north Queensland, starting at $945 per person in a complete inside quad-share cabin.

P&O is offering a range of ‘Price-breaker’ specials that are on sale until 30 April 2008.
