Artemis is undergoing a 15-day facelift in Bremerhaven before departing on a 84-night voyage to South America on December 17.

The work also includes new soft furnishings and carpets in public areas of the 46,000 ton ship. The Horizon lounge and the Coral dining room have been re-designed while keeping the traditional feel of the ship, according to the company.

This is the first re-fit on Artemis since the vessel entered service with P&O Cruises fleet in June 2005.

Head of brand marketing Philip Price said: "Artemis, the smallest ship in the fleet, continues to be a firm favourite with strong customer loyalty.

"She offers an intimate and traditional experience with a personal touch and her itineraries include 'off the beaten track' locations.

"Cabins include brand new 8" Slumberland mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen, new bed presentation with stylish bed runners and scatter cushions."
