Default Pearls of the Med Cruise Sept 2007 - cruise newbie

Hi all,

I am thinking of booking P&O's Arcadia for the Med cruise this year.

What I would like to know is, if some that have been on this is, what
sort of age range of passengers are there.

On some cruises I have been told the average age can be somewhere between 70 - 80's.

As much as I dont have anything remotely discriminatory against our mature population, I dont much like the idea of potentially cruising on a sea going 'Eastbourne' type vessel.

If anyone can feedback on this, I would be grateful

Thank you

AliB

Hi AliB and welcome to CruisingTalk.
I have yet to travel P&O making my first jaunt with them next November. Do know we have a member who sailed on Arcadia in the Carribean recently, I believe he had a great time sure he will reply with some answers for you. Once again Welcome

I was on the Arcadia last October. The age ranged was from 20 year olds to 80 year olds. The average would have been about my age 42.

Thank you for your warm welcomes and posts.

I will look forward to other feedbacks on the Arcadia, perhaps reviews of the food, entertainment etc.

Does it matter that much where the cabin is located, as I have
been told that mid ship cabins have less movement than end ship
cabins.

Maybe also tips as to who usually offers the best deals on prices when
booking.

Again, appreciations to all who reply

You may want to have a look of my review. it may help. http://www.cruisingtalk.com/p-o-crui...bean-j625.html

As for position of cabins. Midship certainly does have less movement. But then I don't think it really makes a difference on the new ships.

AS for where to get the best prices all I would suggest is go to the P&O website get a price from them and then try a few travel agents either on the high street or the web and compare prices. You should be able to get the price knocked down a bit that way.

Have to admit I tend to go for midships if possible. As for price, I research on the internet, find the lowest price for the cruise I want, then go and haggle at my local travelagent.
