Default American Cruise Line Overview and Ship Profiles

This cruise line offers coastal tours along the east coast of the US. The ships are very small which allows them access to places large ships can't go. Sounds interesting.

Naturalists & Historians

To enhance your cruise experience, we invite carefully selected “enlighteners”- naturalists, historians, and other experts – to join us onboard. During informal lectures, open discussions and activities, they bring the local history, nature and culture alive with their knowledge and passion for American heritage. They also lead shore excursions, giving guests behind-the-scenes tours of some of America’s best-kept secrets and favorite treasures.

Onboard Activities

Evening activities and entertainment onboard are just as unique as the ports we visit, and include lectures, guest musicians from the local towns, demonstrations, minor theatrical performances and games. Each activity is rich in history and culture, and is designed to highlight the areas we visit. You’ll find the absence of casinos, glitzy shows and discos to be much appreciated. The library and numerous lounges found on each vessel are ideal for curling up with a good book, and the observation decks serve as perfect vista points for the passing scenery and wildlife.

Dining Experience

The dining experience with American Cruise Lines is a very special one. Each ship has a spacious dining salon that seats all passengers at one time. Our highly skilled chefs trained at the some of the most prestigious Culinary Institutes prepare each meal to order with the utmost care and quality. There are a variety of choices at every meal that frequently include a specialty dish highlighting flavors from the local region. The young, all-American dining room staff is always friendly and accommodating, and eager to pamper you, making sure that your dining experience is just the way you like it.

Default American Spirit

A small ship cruise on the modern American Spirit is for the traveler who pursues the exceptional. Uniquely designed to navigate the inland waterways of the magnificent East Coast, the American Spirit brings passengers to some of the most fascinating places in America. In the intimate atmosphere onboard, guests find that fellow travelers share their passion for these historic places, and often become fast friends. It’s easy to relax and feel comfortable in the huge public spaces onboard. Meals are even served at one seating in the large, glass-enclosed dining salon, and tables are unassigned. In the evening, guests retire to their oversized staterooms to recap the day’s events with their companion, or to view the passing scenery from their private verandah.

Default American Eagle

The 49-passenger American Eagle is the perfect ship for a cruise along the magnificent East Coast. Designed specifically for gliding through lakes, bays, and rivers, the American Eagle brings guests up-close to America’s best-kept secrets. Instead of spending days in the open sea, guests visit a different port every day, sharing their experience with like-minded travelers. The Nantucket Lounge and large dining salon seat all passengers comfortably, and make it easy to get to know everyone onboard. With some of the largest staterooms in small ship cruising, the American Eagle provides each and every guest with the utmost in comfort and repose.
