Received these nice photos of her recently in Singapur Cruise Center. See how the Pullmantur name is being painted away and in one pic. on the other side of the pier is the Costa Allegra's funnel.

Nice photo Seebaer..thanks for posting!

Default PHOTOS FROM THE JAPANESE PEACE BOAT, ss OCEANIC, PRESENT VOYAGE !

I have been able to obtain some pictures direct from the ss Oceanic which is making the Japanese Peace Boat organizations 66th voyage.

The ship departed from Yokohama on the 23rd April 2009 and is expected to return to Yokohama on the 6th August 2009.

The first picture shows her in Singapore, and was taken from the cable car.

The next picture is from ss Oceanic and shows her arriving at Aqaba, Jordan.

Default Deck Buffet Selection

The food served on board is mainly Japanese and features some deck buffets where the talents of the chefs are demonstrated.

Some musical entertainment is also provided.

Pleased to report that the ss Oceanic arrived in Piraeus on time this morning.

Not too sure how the Japanese passengers will like Athens as there has been some riots on for the last two days.

Muslim immigrants have been clashing with the police after a copy of the Koran was damaged by the police during a raid.

After a two day stay at Piraeus, the ships next port of call is Catania, Italy, where she is due to arrive on the 25th May 2009.

I hope Etna puts on a show for them in Catania, but holds it down to smoke in the daytime and an orange glow at night. I made two port calls in Catania and passed by during about seven transits of the Strait of Messina. Etna can be impressive as can Stromboli, just north of Messina.

The passengers on the ss Oceanic might see a few eruptions in Athens !

It is reported that muslim immigrants have been rioting in Athens after a copy of the Koran was damaged by a Greek police officer.

The riots are reported as going on for the past two days.

It looks as if the stay in Piraeus may have been reduced as ss Oceanic sailed from the port at about 23.00 hrs. last night.

Her schedule had shown for her to be in Pireaus for the 23rd and 24th May 2009, so perhaps the riots have led to her early departure.

She was cruising this morning at 17.3 knots.

The view of her from the port webcam yesterday was blocked by a quayside crane.
