World Heritage Cruises, which operates three-day/two-night cruises around Tasmania's world heritage wilderness starting in Strahan, has launched its first ex-Queensland program.
Expedition ship Discovery entered service in December 2004 and is operating four-day/three-night cruises around Fraser Island until September 8, 2006.
There is a transfer from Hervey Bay to the nearby pier at Urangan to join Discovery during the current whale-watching season (July until November) when hundreds of humpbacks rest and play in the sheltered waters of Hervey Bay during their yearly migration between Antarctica and the Great Barrier Reef.
Discovery departs Urangan on September 12 for a seven-night cruise to Sydney, then departs on September 25 for her seven-night repositioning voyage to Hobart.
