Default Query on restaurant prices & which ship

I'm booking an Ocean Village cruise in August (after much deliberation on which cruise ship to go on). A couple of questions:

Which ship does Greece, both or just the original Ocean Village ship?

and

There is a cover charge in the Bistro Restaurant (which isn't unusual) but do passengers have to also pay for the food. The brochure does say only the self service food is free on board.

Thanks

Jackie

Itinerary information can be found on their website...

Ocean Village Holidays - Mediterranean summer cruise holidays in the sun: Intro

The Greek Islands cruises are aboard the original Ocean Village ship for 2007/8 summertime.

The food in all restaurants is included in the cruise price, the cover charge is purely due to the specialised restaurant and not a charge for the food itself.

Menu's (samples) for the restaurants can be found here...

Hope that helps you a little

By looking at their site it does seem that the original ocean village is doing the east (Greek area)., whilst their recent aquisition is doing the west.
According to the website it does seem that you have to pay extra if you have waiter service.
Which time in August are you looking to go?

The Original OV is doing Greece... the new OV2 will be based in Palma.

Dining options are complicated.

La Luna: at Lunchtime there is no cover charge, some menu items are also free, while other items are £1.50 or £2.50. Booking is not needed. Same menu every day.

La Luna: in the evening there is a cover charge for all meals, and certain dishes (like surf and turf) have an extra charge on top of the cover charge. Booking is Essential. Menu changes halfway through the week.

The Bistro: only open in the evening, there is a cover charge for all meals. Booking is Essential. Menu changes halfway through the week.

Confused? you soon will be!

Wine in the Plantation is sometimes on offer... so the trick is to sit in the Plantation buffet and order wine, then pick up the bottle and glasses and walk over to La Luna.
