Ocean Village offers expanded Action Ashore programme

Ocean Village is offering a new expanded Action Ashore programme for this summer on its seven and 14 night sailings in the eastern and western Mediterranean.

More than 20 new activities are being offered this summer, including rock climbing, helicopter sight-seeing and scuba diving.

Head of marketing communications Gill Haynes said: "Our Action Ashore programme is a big hit with passengers with about 70% of passengers taking one of many options on a daily basis."

Highlights include rock climbing from St Raphael, France with a 40 metre abseil back down, helicopter flights from Barcelona, Spain, walks around ancient Rome in Italy scuba diving from Ephesus, Turkey and cruise and swim from Rhodes, Greece.

Prices for a seven-night Mediterranean cruise start from £599 per person including flights.

Paddington Bear is joining Bagpuss on Ocean Village's two ships this summer as a permanent addition in the kids club. Ocean Village is also offering free cruises for children travelling during Paddington's 2008/09 debut Caribbean season.
