Ocean Village Two is set to become the UK’s first ship to boast two godmothers when sisters Jodie and Jemma Kidd smash the bottle on April 24 in Southampton.
Supermodel Jodie and celebrity makeup artist Jemma are both into high adrenaline activities. They’re keen horse riders and Jodie is well known for her motor racing talents. Peter Shanks, md, Ocean Village, said ‘we feel the sisters’ interests are well aligned with the sort of holidays we offer. Jodie and Jemma both seem to make the most of life and have a great sense of fun and playfulness - which is what Ocean Village is all about.’
On the evening prior to the naming ceremony guests are invited to join the ship for a night of entertainment including stand up comedy and the premiere of a new dance show as well as performances from 1980s disco divas Jaki Graham and Angie Brown. Ocean Village Two will be officially named the following day in the late morning after which the ship will embark on its maiden voyage to Gibraltar, Cartagena and Barcelona before arriving in her base of Palma, Majorca.
Through the summer the ship will offer seven- and 14-night Western Mediterranean itineraries calling at Tunis, Naples, Florence, Corsica, Monte Carlo, Genoa, St Raphael, Rome and Barcelona.
The original Ocean Village ship will sail in the Eastern Mediterranean for the first time this summer, based in Crete and offering seven- and 14-night Greek island-hopping cruises which also visit Croatia and Turkey, plus stay and cruise options.

But it didn't break the first time...bad omen?? I hope not.
Second time lucky for Jodie and Jemma
Celebrity sisters Jodie and Jemma Kidd ominously took two attempts to smash champagne against the hull of a relaunched cruise ship in Southampton today.
The siblings managed to crack the bottle the second time on the renamed Ocean Village Two to the huge relief of the crew, who consider the bottle staying in one piece a bad omen.
A spokeswoman for the ship said: ''The bottle did smash the second time. People in the cruise industry are superstitious but this crew are happy because it did smash.'' With the ceremony over, Ocean Village Two became the UK's first ship to boast two godmothers.
Supermodel Jodie and celebrity make-up artist Jemma said: ''It's a real buzz to be invited to be godmothers to sister ship Ocean Village Two.
''We don't often get to work together, so this is a dream invitation and a real honour.'' The 1,690-berth vessel has two pools, two Jacuzzis, eight bars, a theatre, casino, chill-out area, spa and fitness complex and four restaurants, including one called The Bistro with menus created by TV chef James Martin.
It will set sail on its maiden voyage from Southampton on April 25, sailing to Gibraltar, Cartagena and Barcelona before arriving in Palma, Majorca, where it will be based for the summer season.
It is the second cruise ship in the Ocean Village fleet, a division of Carnival UK which includes P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Cunard.
The fleet's total passenger capacity is more than 3,200.
