Default Tropic of Cancer Cerificate

When we crossed the Atlantic and entered "The Tropic of Cancer" last December, we were offered a certificate to commemorate the occasion. At a price, which I cannot remember.

Years ago on our first cruise on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage (Hurtigruten- The beauty one cannot describe) we were presented with a free certificate on crossing the "Arctic Circle" I have placed a photo in the Gallery,

Have others that have crossed any of the seas and entered the tropics or any other parts of the globe had an offer of a certificate?

Dijoy

I have a Cape Horn one from NCL. I got that on Boxing Day last year aboard Norwegian Crown.

Got it on the wall and framed, it was free. Granted its a photocopy of a certificate with my name and the date added, but its still a nice reminder

Sure I remember a program where passengers were offered a certificate for sailing through a storm,

I crossed the Artic Circle but not on a cruise yet. I did it driving through Norway, on my way to Cape North to see the Midnight sun on the 21st of June 2002. I have my passport stamped and bought a couple of postcards and a book where they also stampped the first page. It was pretty cool. Since then, I wanted to cross more international lines like that, and Some day I hope I will cross the Antartic circle! I'll let you know if I ever do it!

We crossed into the Tropics on HAL's Amsterdam in 2002. To the best of my recollection, they made absolutely no fuss of any kind. I certainly did not receive, nor was I offered, any certificate.

I crossed the Tropic line several times on Navy ships, and again, no fuss. I was not "fortunate" enough to cross the Equator or the International Date Line on a Navy ship. For those two lines, there is a definite "fuss" created. On my only trip to the Southern Hemisphere, I crossed southbound at about 10,000 meters altitude in a Pan Am plane. Northbound it was on a civilian merchant ship, a freighter. Again, no fuss.

This past summer we got a certificate for crossing the European Continental Divide on a river cruise ship.
