Thinking about booking cabin 10090 for September 29th sailing. Anything I should know about the cabin, the ship, the cruise, etc.? What should I expect as far as the weather for this time of year?
Also new to "Freestyle" cruising and would appreciate any comments.
I have only done 2 NCL cruises so far, one on Jewel and one on Crown....I will be aboard Gem later this year on a shakedown cruise.
Freestyle ships, in a nutshell, give you larger choice of places to eat, complete freedom as to what time to eat and what to wear. They also offer good levels of activities during the daytime and evenings too. The freestyle way is not to everyone's taste, but if you are looking for the less formalised cruise, then it is ideal. Age groups are wide, you will get some children (obviously dependant on the time of year/schools etc) and the ship will cater to most if not all levels of how active or not that you want to be while cruising.
As to your chosen itinerary, I cannot comment as have not done the MR cruises as yet
All in all, you should have a very pleasant cruise.

A few weeks ago we won a competition to have a four-night break in Los Angeles. We asked if the return flight could be delayed, and we now depart UK on 25 Sept 07, and return Oct 9. We also have spending money, spa treatment, and we declined the hire car. Apparently the Sunset Towers Hotel where we are staying has a view over the Hollywood Hills, and the Hollywood sign.
The dates have allowed us to book a cruise from LA.
Cruise Itinerary
Day 1 Los Angeles, California
Depart at 4:00pm
Day 2 Day At Sea
Day 3 Day At Sea
Day 4 Acapulco, Mexico
Arrive at 11:00am - Departs just after Midnight
Day 5 Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico
Arrive at 7:00am - Depart at 2:00pm
Day 6 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Arrive at 9:00am - Depart at 5:00pm
Day 7 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Arrive at 8:00am - Depart at 4:00pm
Day 8 Day At Sea
Day 9 Los Angeles, California
Arrive at 7:00am*
We sail on the Norwegian Star. Golden Princess sail on the same day for a similar cruise, but Acapulco is not included, and it is a day shorter, so we opted for NCL.
On return from our Mexican Riviera cruise we are hoping to arrange two nights in Long Beach on the Queen Mary.
This is similar to the cruise DH and I are doing in Feb 08 on Carnival Spirit. I will look forward to hearing all about it when you all get back! Reviews are very much appreciated.

My wife won a competition. We have free flights, free hotel at the beginning, and the ultimate, spending money, quite a lot, The competition sponsors have allowed us to extend our stay (originally 4 nights) to suit our own needs at our expense, hence the cruise and QM.
